[The feed clicks on, and anyone watching will be greeted to a violent flurry of motion. The communicator has been carelessly tossed to the ground, but it fortunately landed face up, and is recording all the action. Sharp snarls and high-pitched squeals are coming from all directions, and one might recognize the mischievous, darting shapes as Ballybogs. They seem to have attacked the Deity as he went wandering through the meadows.]

[Things were not going to go as planned for the Ballybogs, however.]

[Savagely, the Oni is lashing out and striking down the screaming, shrieking little beasts, his eyes practically burning with contempt. Then, just as suddenly as it started, it seems to be over, the survivors squeaking and fleeing from the wrathful being. Tiny little corpses lay strewn at his feet, and the Deity paces for a moment, clearly agitated.]

[Then, suddenly, he takes a seat, snatching up one of the fallen fae and tearing into its flesh with his sharp teeth. Yes, he is proceeding to devour the bodies. On video. He doesn't really notice its on, and in truth, he wouldn't really care if he did.]

[ when she comes upon the scene of carnage in the meadow, Bernkastel simply stops and watches from a short distance away, making no attempt to hide her presence. ]

[To Saki's credit, he does at least pause temporarily, white eyes darting across the meadow until they finally land on the communicator. He recognizes Saki--or that much can be implied in the way he settles back down, still chewing thoughtfully. No, he has no intention of putting it down. He's hungry. Again.]

[Shadow is hiding somewhere dark because daylight hurts and thus all that can be seen from his little mirror is his face and the dark shapes of shifting Shadows around him.]

[Those long, pale ears twitch for a moment, and the Deity fixes the small girl with an icy stare. He doesn't appear to be particularly perturbed--interested, perhaps, but she's no threat to him or his meal.]

[His brow crinkles with irritation, and he deliberately takes another savage bite from the thing as he stares directly at the camera. You can't make him do anything, Saki, village leader or not.]

[The Oni pauses mid-bite in order to peer at the communicator, eyes narrowed with interest.]

Shade. [He names the being. And what would a little shade want with him?]

Shadow.

[The creature corrects him. It's a tiny thing, a nit-pic really, but it's part of who he was and he clung to that identity like a desperate man to flotsam in the middle of an ocean.

And Shadow wants some entertainment. It was always so boring stuck hidden away during the day. And sleep didn't last for long with him.]

[There's a faint snort at the correction, but fortunately the Oni has food to focus on instead of taking offense. The question earns a head tilt, but no response. He simply--is. There is nothing else quite like him, and there likely never will be.]

[Shadow's red eyes narrow and he frowns slightly.]

[Did she just threaten him?]

[His jaws are open only centimeters from the half-eaten corpse, but he hasn't moved to take another chomp. Clearly her threat held some sort of weight for the Deity. With a frustrated snap, they shut, and he drops the fae with disgust, not-quite growling at the screen as though it's all Saki's fault.]

They started it.

No. [He replies simply, continuing his meal. Titles given to him, yes. Names of worship, cursed names. But none of them were his.]

[The tone wasn't mocking - yet - but it was bordering on it. Still more curious at the moment.]

A god. [He senses that snark, shade, and you'd be careful to watch your tongue. He's made snacks of you and your ilk before.]

[Well... Link was so hungry he ate a bit of moblin before, so this wasn't much different, right? Though at least he'd cooked his disgusting meal first. The bestial nature of the god, which he'd only been vaguely aware of, was continuing to shock and surprise him.

He turned the feed on, gave him a smile, and then said:]

[ Kyouko eats a lot of things. And in quite big portions too. It can even be said she pretty much has an iron stomach, but to see anyone actually trying to eat the fae doesn't sit right with her. Not that she cares about the creatures, but she can bet they taste awful. ]

[ no, she prefers to tear out the guts of something larger than fae... ]

[ her voice is like her expression: there isn't anything in it, not even a trace of curiosity. ]

[Dark is fascinated by the display of violence, and the following Ballybog meal. He presses his face up to the communicator, as if that would give him a better look at the carnage.]

[Too bad he's way too cock-sure of himself to take you as a threat right now.]

A god? You don't look like a god.

[Not that Shadow had ever actually seen one, but he'd seen sorcerers before and they were all very large and powerful looking and not at all shaped like a man. A God couldn't possibly such a small thing.]

Besides, gods have names.

[Well, this is unsettling. Sheik is perfectly used to blood and carnage, yes - and he's encountered a few deities in his wanderings. But this one - even if it wasn't looking so eerily similar to Link, it would be unnerving enough. The power from such a being is tangible, a prickle along every nerve.]
