001| [Video]

[It sounds like the rumble of boulders at first, low, monotonous, and threatening. After a moment, one might realize it’s a combination of a growl deep in one’s throat, as well as the sound of blunt fangs grinding together in obvious irritation. It had taken him quite a while to even figure out how to turn the thing on, but now everyone could have his piercing, narrowed white eyes trying to bore holes through their souls. The creak of his gauntlets tightening around the hilt of a wicked, impossibly helix-blade is a chilling sound indeed.]

Where?

[These were not his lands, and he could not sense Majora anywhere nearby. The Oni was exhausted, still bearing the wounds of his titanic struggle, AND the dried blood smeared across his face only lent itself to his already savage appearance. Someone had better start talking, and quickly, before he found the first pair of mortals to snatch up with his hands and choke them until they mewled every answer he wanted to hear. ]

[Ah. A containment device. There were probably more rare fragments.]

[More?]

Yes. [There's no question of that, but the mention of people makes his head tilt.] No. Unless they deserve it.

[She waves a hand for him to follow as she heads back into the kitchen proper, starting on a second sandwich. Slicing bread, la la la - ]

How do you know if they deserve it?

[So this is where the food comes from. He follows her, his steps slow and heavy.]

Bad, or very, very stupid.

[Saki makes a little noise, almost of laughter.]

There are worse things to do than eat stupid people. But I wouldn't try it here.

[The sandwich gets some meat and lettuce before she offers it to him.]

Do you think you can handle another drink?

There are more important foes at hand. [He agrees. Whatever sins the mortals may commit here pale to the personal grievance the fairies have given him.]

Yes. [He manages between monstrous bites, clearly appreciating Saki's expert sandwich-making skills.]

[Saki pours a second glass of milk but doesn't offer it right away.]

You won't eat the glass this time, right?

[The Oni pauses to stare at her, a sudden intensity in his features, almost as though trying to see whether she would yield or flinch away from his gaze. Just as unexpectedly, he dips his head in acknowledgement, clearly satisfied. With what is unknown.]

I will not.

[When he stares down at her, Saki stares back unflinching. It's not that she's not intimidated, even if very little frightens her more than what's already dead, but she's gotten a little better at not showing it. Pretending he's some stupid neighbourhood kid from back home helps.

He answers, and it satisfies her; Saki offers him the cup and beverage inside it. Folding her hands behind her back, she reminds where she is - to make sure he does so.

[His hand dwarfs the glass, but, true to his word, the Deity is handling it with care, now. He understands respect, particularly when it comes to one's possessions. Only when the glass is situated safely against his lips (and not in danger of being dinged by his teeth), will he gulp the liquid down.]

See? [She smiles up at him, pleased.] You can do it.

[Again, she seems to be satisfied. He studies her for a moment, considering, then extends his hand to offer the glass back to her.]

[She takes the glass and dumps into the sink with all the other dishes she's ignoring.]

You did well.

[There's a very soft huff of breath through his nose, and the Deity is pleased. He has conquered you, strange glass magic. You have been defeated.]
